Time creates an image in wood. The lines fascinate me. They create associations. In my recent series of paintings there is an interaction between the painted image and the image portrayed through the wood. Choosing the wood as the carrier of the subject is perhaps an indirect choice influenced by the fact that I photographed details of a tree for more than a year.
I play with an image, based on imagination or reality. What fascinates me is that perception of reality shifts during observation through your experience, attitude and position. The conclusions you draw are dependent upon your perception. |
