On ArtScience: A continuous search for clear identity, which often turned out to be quite interesting to participate in through my own work. A rather weak Masters program to my opinion.

In my opinion the academy focuses a bit too much on asking an innovative, experimental approach of their students, while personally I think this shouldn't be an aim on itself, but is a response that comes naturally in the process of developing and once one has had the chance to find out about authenticity first.

The school is far to rigid to fully expres yourself. It is still stuck in the 1970's and the 1980's.

This school helps you understand your ideas. You are recognized as someone who listens to your thoughts and only needs some guidance to develop the path from the big ‘nothing’ to an artwork. They hand you the means and you have to be able to use them and translate them to your language.

I was looking for a school that honored the fact that I wanted to be a contemporary painter. As for some schools this almost seems to be a contradiction in terms nowadays, I was relieved when I found the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. They have guided and taught me and given me the feedback I needed to get to the start-off point I needed to get to and am now.

I found in this school a good environment to develop further my artistic questions. ArtScience department is quite unique in the way all disciplines comes together just as a process of artistic understanding.

school is really good for develop creativity. But often to much students, not enough teachers. Groups are to crowded for good individual talks.

Great atmosphere, nice building and some really good teachers. Good facilities as well. Great place when you want to study type design.
However, I think there should be placed more emphasis on concept, typography and theory.
