| An Interactive Fiction consists of two large projections on opposite sides.
The videos are based on elements of two mediums: the text adventure and
the screenplay.
For this installation, two different text adventures were developed by the artist using a program called INFORM. With INFORM, text adventures can be made using natural language in a 'coded' way. Developing a text adventure is largely about predicting the kind of text commands the player of a text adventure will use in certain situations. The artist ultimately played his own 'games' and used the textual results to create this installation.
The texts are a mix of filmic memory, references, innuendos and everyday situations, and rely heavily on the viewer's perspective. There's an apparent narrative going on, which can be picked up and visualized by the viewer at any point in the projections.
